Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (March 17, 1920 – August 15, 1975) is one of the leaders of the major political figures in the forefront of the struggle for the establishment of Bangladesh from East Pakistan and Bangladesh, considered the father of the nation. He founded the Awami League president Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, the country’s first president, and later served as the country’s prime minister. To the public he was known as Sheikh Mujib and his title Bangabandhu Sheikh Sahib. His eldest daughter Sheikh Hasina of the Awami League, the current President and the current Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
