Egypt and Syria-led coalition and Israel took place between October 6, 1973 and October 25, 1973. The war started in the Israeli occupied region during the invasion of the Arab League in Yom Kippur during the holy day of Yudhsud. It was during the holy month of Ramadan. Egyptians and Syrian troops entered the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Plateau by dividing the ceasefire line respectively. The territories occupied Israel during the six-day war of 1967. Both the United States and the Soviet Union help their respective allies. As a result, there was a dispute between the two nuclear powers.

The war started by successfully crossing the Suez canal in Egypt. After crossing the ceasefire, the Egyptian army traveled towards the Sinai Peninsula. Three days later Israel was able to stop the Egyptian advance by recruiting most of its troops. Syrians attack the Golan Plateau Initially, they succeeded in the Israeli occupied territories.

Within three days, the Israelis were able to send Syrians out of war ceasefire line. Then they launched a four-day counter attack in Syria. Within one week, Israeli artillery began firing on the outskirts of Damascus. Thinking of the loss of his ally, Egyptian President Anwar Sadat used to think that two strategic paths in Sinai would strengthen his position during negotiations. So he ordered the Egyptians to attack again. But this attack was resisted. Then the Israelis counter-attacked and began to move slowly towards Cairo and south on the west. At that time there was massive loss on both sides.

By 24th October, Israel was able to secure its position and was able to surround the city of Egypt and the Third Army and Suez. There was a lot of tension between the United States and the Soviet Union. The ceasefire took place on 25th October and the end of the war. The war had long-term consequences. In the six-day war of 1967, the Egyptian-Syrian-Jordanian alliance, unconstitutional, was divided into primary success. Although Israel is successful in the war, it appears that it is not able to control the Arab states alone. These changes lead to the peace process. In 1978 the Camp David Agreement was signed. As a result, the Sinai peninsula was returned to Egypt and Israel was recognized for the first time by an Arab state. Egypt has come out of the influence of the Soviet Union force.
